1962 - Slim Haney founded by WB "Slim" Haney. Slim started the company in a small rented building on Sheridan in Tulsa, Oklahoma with 2 Brown & Sharpe single spindle screw machines. As the company grew, he added New Britain bar machines, Davenport bar machines, and Acme bar machines.
1970 - Slim relocated the operations to south 99th E. Ave in Tulsa. At that point his son Gene joined the company, along with Bob Parrott. Together they helped mold the company into what it is today.
1985 - Slim retired and sold the business to his son, Gene who implemented a CNC department. Bob Parrott was promoted and the result was a doubling of production.
2002 – Gene decided he was ready to ease out of the business and felt Newton Box II was the right man to take over. Newton was a former raw material supplier who had developed a 25 year relationship with Gene and Bob.
2004 – Newton officially became the owner of Slim Haney Machining, Inc. and Bob Parrott was promoted to Vice President.
2006 - Slim Haney relocated the operations to a climate controlled 20,000 sq. ft. facility that sits on a 3.2 acre lot, at the corner of 5615 North Mingo in Tulsa Oklahoma
2010 - Elisa Oxley joined the Slim Haney Team. She was brought on to be materials manager, but wears many hats and has proven herself to be a vital asset in the everyday operations at Slim Haney Machining
2011 – Bob Parrott decided he was ready to retire, so Newton decided to hire Dennis Brock from Apex Tool Group to become Vice President and General Manager. Dennis has a diversified background in global procurement and was brought on to drive improvement and growth
2012 – Slim Haney acquired Burt Brock from Parker Hannifin. Burt has a strong background business administration and Human Resources. Burt was brought on to help drive improvements as Quality Manager. As a result Slim Haney received their ISO 9001:2008 certification
2015 – Slim Haney invested in a Doosan TT1800SY Turning Center, a new break room for employees, a new quality lab, and a new Brown & Sharpe coordinate measuring machine. The new quality lab is double the size of the previous and houses new equipment which allows Slim Haney to sit at the top of their industry
2016 - Re-certified for ISO-9001:2015
2020 - Began construction on distribution center
2021 - Distribution Center finished for raw materials, finished goods, shipping & receiving
2024 - New sales Manager Casey O'Connor
